Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division announced this week the brand’s “most powerful, agile and extreme performance vehicle ever” — the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8.
The car is a prototype version of what it calls a “specially tuned Jaguar super sports sedan”. We get a first look at its debut test at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with glimpses of it adorned in an exclusive camouflage created by SVO Design.
Targeted for a 2018 release, the XE SV Project 8 will be the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle from SVO, following the successful launch of Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014.
The all-wheel drive car is powered by a tuned version of Jaguar’s supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, producing an estimated 600PS — making it the most powerful production Jaguar ever produced.
Just 300 units of the XE SV Project 8 will be produced, each hand-assembled at SVO’s Technical Center in Coventry.
Furhter details will be revealed on June 28, 2017, ahead of its world dynamic debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 30.
