Actor Roger Moore, best known for his role as James Bond, has died at the age of 89.
His family confirmed the news on Twitter, revealing that he died after “a short but brave battle with cancer”.
In the statement, penned by his three children (Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian), they had this special message for their father.
“Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people. With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated,” they said in a tweet.

Moore played the iconic role of James Bond in seven films, from 1973 to 1985, including The Man with the Golden Gun, Octopussy and his final Bond film, Let Die and A View to a Kill — when he was 45, the oldest actor to portray the British spy.
RIP to Roger Moore, and condolences to his family.
