Seattle Seahawks icon Cortez Kennedy has died. He was just 48 years old.
Police in Orlando confirmed the news to ESPN, adding that while they are investigating his death, foul play is not suspected at this time.
Kennedy reportedly died alone.
The Hall of Famer was a force on the inside as a defensive tackle during his 10-year career in Seattle. During his career, he racked up 448 tackles and 58 sacks.
Kennedy was also named the 1992 Defensive Player of the Year and made eight Pro Bowls.
Rest in peace to one of the NFL’s greats.
