After a few years of friction, fellow Toronto stars Drake and Tory Lanez have buried the hatchet.
On Thursday (May 18), the two snapped a photo together and shared it on Instagram.
“The city needs more of this and less of that,” Drake wrote. “Toronto… I Told You,” Lanez added in a post of his own.
The feud between Drake and Tory Lanez dates back to Oct. 2015, when Lanez called Drizzy’s nickname for Toronto (The 6) “corny” and “not cool”.
A year later, on Drake’s “Summer Sixteen Tour”, he took aim at Tory on stage. “All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little,” he rapped, adding, “You was never gang, gang, gang, gang, you was never one of us.”
In a 2016 interview on Hot 97, Lanez addressed the beef, saying it was never personal. “There’s never been a personal problem because I don’t know that man,” he explained. “It’s just one of those situations where, the only thing that’s ever gonna lie in between us is that we can’t share first place and I’m the only guy that’s bold enough to come and really take that right now.”
Whatever the issue was between the two, it appears to be over. Will we now see a collaboration? What do you think?
