Days after being arrested in connection with Young Dolph’s February shooting, Blac Youngsta addresses the case on a new song called “Birthday”.
The Tay Keith-produced track begins with Youngsta declaring his innocence. “I’m not guilty, I’m innocent,” he says.
From there, the Memphis rapper addresses the shooting, which took place in Charlotte during CIAA Weekend. Dolph’s bulletproof SUV was shot at more than 100 times.
“You’re the only n*gga come to CIAA with a bulletproof truck, scared for your life / How you gon’ go and shoot your own truck up and play dead for the night / And then press charges on me, and tell the police I did that sh*t / Now, the feds say that I’m a menace / This for all the young n*ggas innocent, I’m innocent,” Youngsta raps.
Earlier this week, Youngsta (born Sammie Benson) was arrested, alongside two others, in connection with Dolph’s shooting. He turned himself in, because a warrant had been issued after investigators traced a van — said to be involved in the shooting — back to the rapper.
Youngsta’s attorney said the van was rented by Benson, but was later stolen.
