Following news in April that NBA jerseys can carry a corporate logo next season, the Cleveland Cavaliers has announced a partnership with Goodyear.
The tire brand, which was founded and currently based in Akron, OH, has signed a multiyear deal for its logo to appear on Cavs jerseys next season, reports ESPN. However, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Goodyear’s wingfoot mark will appear as yellow on the team’s jerseys, but will be outlined in blue on the white jersey and a yellow outline on the red jersey.
Furthermore, the Cavs’ “C” logo will apparently appear on the Goodyear blimp to make things official.
The Cavs will be the sixth team in the NBA to bring on a corporate sponsor on their jerseys. The other teams include: Boston Celtics (General Electric), Brooklyn Nets (Infor), Philadelphia 76ers (StubHub), Sacramento Kings (Blue Diamond Growers) and Utah Jazz (Qualtrics).
