Stipe Miocic successfully defended his heavyweight title at UFC 211 on Saturday night (May 13), with a TKO of Junior Dos Santos.
The champ avenged the loss he suffered to Dos Santos back in 2014, who took a unanimous decision in a non-title match that took “Fight of the Night” honors.
Miocic chased down Junior from the opening bell, who found himself backing against the cage before he landed a few, hard leg kicks that appeared to bother the champ. After just two, Stipe was already feeling the effects, as he began limping.
So, with a bit of urgency, Stipe looked for his openings and tagged Dos Santos with straight rights, before eventually landing one as he was up against the cage that sent him to the mat. Stipe immediately pounced, reigning down fists as Dos Santos covered up… prompting the referee to call the fight.

With his second straight title defense official, Stipe climbed atop the cage, pounded his chest and screamed, “Too easy!!!”
The fight was Miocic’s first since knocking out Alistair Overeem last September to defend his UFC heavyweight title for the first time.
On the undercard, Joanna Jędrzejczyk took a unanimous decision in a tough fight against Jéssica Andrade to remain undefeated and successfully defend the UFC Women’s strawweight title for the fifth straight time.
