After coming under fire last week, following a controversial N-word tweet, social media star YesJulz has taken to Snapchat, offering an emotional apology.
In a tweet, which has since been deleted, she asked her followers if it were okay for her to wear a T-shirt to a music festival she was attending the next day. On it, it read the words “N*ggas lie a lot.” Following post, Twitter went off, calling her a racist, as well as a culture vulture.
After the backlash, YesJulz took to Snapchat, offering an apology in which she appeared very emotional.
“I just wanted to come on here and say I made a huge mistake yesterday, and did something really dumb. And, I’m so sorry,” she said in the video. “I am so sorry. I understand completely that I f*cked up. That word is something that I should ever be associated with, in any context… in any way, shape or form. I apologize.”
Julz went on to say that she was advised to release a statement, but chose to address the controversy the way fans know her… through social media. “At this point, it was important to me to acknowledge the fact that I understand what I put out there was wrong,” she concluded.
Following the backlash from her N-word tweet, Julz was pulled from two events she was slated to attend in Toronto.
