NYC radio personality Funkmaster Flex came under fire earlier this week, after he made some comments about the late Tupac that many felt were disrespectful.
During an Instagram Live session, Flex appeared to mock the rapper, as he claimed he shot himself in the leg during the infamous 1994 Quad Studios shooting in New York City.
Following the backlash, he took to IG Live a day later to explain himself. According to Flex, he respects Pac and his contributions to the game, but doesn’t agree how he blamed Biggie over the shooting.
“My problem is: the Notorious B.I.G. did not set him up. That was a lie,” he said.
“Why did I say it 20 years later? I said it when the f*cking sh*t was going on,” Flex later added, as he got emotional. “Biggie wouldn’t have f*cking died if that n*gga hadn’t of lied. He lied. Y’all n*ggas worship him. LIED!!! Never ever said nothing about him. He f*cking lied!!! Nobody wants to tell the truth.”
Flex said he understands why Tupac was upset and went on a rampage after the shooting, and agrees, but blaming Biggie struck a cord with him.
