Nintendo surprised gamers this week, with the announcement of the upcoming 2DS XL.
Slated to drop this summer, the updated version of the 2DS portable gaming console features a C-stick, Amiibo-compatible NFC reader and extra processing power. It’s very similar to the 3DS XL, just without the 3D functionality. However, it is compatible with all of the gamesfor the 3DS XL.
The 2DS XL’s exterior also features the original DS clamshell shape., while sporting the same size screen as the 3DS XL. It’s a big smaller than the 3DS Xl, but “packs the same power” says Nintendo.
The Nintendo 2DS XL releases July 28 for $150 USD.
