Is Lil Wayne’s long awaited Carter V album finally coming?

If his recent declaration is true, than yes. During the Dallas stop of his “Kloser 2 U Tour”, Weezy told fans that the album is on the way… while also declaring himself Roc Nation… once again.

“C5 coming soon. F*ck Cash Money. It’s the Roc,” he said onstage.

Whether or not this means anything, well that remains to be seen, especially since there’s no indication of any movement in Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit against his label, Cash Money Records.

Tha Carter V has been talked about since 2012, but has never been given a release date. Back in January, Wayne teased C5, as well as two other projects, in a Facebook post, though we’ve heard no further info since. A month earlier, controversial pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli claimed he bought the album and previewed a snippet online.

The legal battle with Cash Money and Birdman seems to be holding up the release of new music from Wayne, but he recently revealed that he’s aligned himself with Jay Z, who plans to help him.

“Jay is just a good guy. It was nothing but a simple thing,” he told Skip Bayless on his FOX show, Undisputed. “Friend to friend, I just want to help you. Simply. That’s all it was. I just want to help you, man, in any way I can. Right now, he’s just gonna help me in any way he can.”

For now, fans will have to settle for Wayne live shows, as he continues his “Kloser 2 U Tour”, which travels through May.
