When it comes to the playoffs, NBA players give it their all, playing through pain… and even missing teeth. Just ask Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas.
In Game 1 against the Wizards, the guard took a shot in the mouth and lost a tooth just seven minutes into the game.
While chasing Wizards forward Otto Porter around a screen, Thomas caught an elbow to the mouth and one of his front teeth flew out of his mouth and onto the court. The play continued, but when it stopped, he grabbed it and brought it over to the sideline.
Thomas was left with a big gap in his teeth.
After the game, he said he plans to get it fixed ASAP. “I’ve always had teammates that I’ve always clowned them about the tooth being out and now I’m one of them. So hopefully we can replace it as soon as possible,” Thomas said post-game.
