Days after canceling his tour, due to a “medical emergency”, DMX has reportedly checked into rehab.
According to TMZ, the rapper (born Earl Simmons) checked himself into a treatment center in Southern California on Thursday night (April 27), at the advice of his manager Pat Gallo and ex-wife Tashera Simmons.
DMX went voluntarily, said the report.
Earlier this week, he was forced to cancel three shows over an unspecific “medical emergency.”
“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer,” Gallo said in a statement. “We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”
Further details are currently unknown.
DMX has been to rehab in the past, after years of battling drug abuse.
