Nike already has its line of popular tech fleece joggers, but now, it appears the brand is planning a new category of jeans.
According to WWD, the Swoosh recently filed a patent for what it calls “Ath-Denim”, short for “architecturally reinforced denim”.
The report says the new denim is a jeans-jogging pant hybrid, which provides “high tenacity” and “moisture management”, as well as stretch. They would also feature seamless “performance zones” and areas with “padding for shock absorption.”
Nike has yet to officially announce this new tech.
Currently, the brand offers a small range of men’s pants, including the aforementioned tech fleece and a denim pant for skateboarders.
