Such a tragedy! On Friday (April 14), retired NFL star Todd Heap accidentally struck and killed his 3-year-old daughter while moving his truck.
According to reports, the 37-year-old was moving his truck in the driveway of his Mesa, AZ home around 3:45 pm, when he struck his child.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
Heap showed no signs of impairment, said officials. But, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The former NFL tight end played 10 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and two with the Arizona Cardinals, before eventually retiring in 2012. He was selected in the first round of the 2001 draft by the Ravens.
