Ahead of its public unveiling at the New York Auto Show this weekend, Lincoln unveils its all-new 2018 Navigator, which has been upgraded in every way imaginable.

As you can see, the full-size SUV gets an all-new design, very similar to the concept we saw a year ago. Immediately, you’ll notice its new rounded rectangle grill, paired with fender vents and wraparound rear glass, giving it a sleek and stylish look.

Upon approach, the chrome Lincoln logo on the grille softly illuminates, while LED lighting in the lower front body and taillamps engages and a Lincoln welcome mat appears beneath the front doors. What a welcome, right?

At night, the interior ambient lighting turns on sequentially across three rows, while during the day, a panoramic roof fills the cabin with natural light.

We’ve yet to get a look in-person, but we hear, the new Navigator is massive! Inside, there’s three rows of spaciousness, with storage in each to keep the cabin clean and organized. It also features an advanced cargo management system that offers an adjustable shelf behind the rear seats that allows clients to create a customized storage solution to fit their needs. Even when the vehicle parked on an incline, the feature ensures groceries won’t roll out when the liftgate is opened.

“When designing the Navigator, we put an emphasis on ultra-luxury touch points,” said David Woodhouse, Lincoln design director. “We took everything the client would see and touch, and made sure it would look and feel a little more exuberant, a little more indulgent and incredibly beautiful.”

There’s also full digital instrumentation, a large floating tablet-style touchscreen on the center console and available massaging 30-way adjustable seats for the front passengers. Two more screens can be added for the second-row passengers and are capable of streaming media, via standard options such as CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s six USB ports, so the whole family is covered.

A built-in Wi-Fi system can accommodate up to 10 devices and there are a dozen power points around the cabin, including a wireless smartphone charger in the front center console.

Pricing for the 2018 Navigator has yet to be revealed, but the current model starts at $65,000, so it may be around the same or a bit higher. Stay tuned…
