The late Tupac Shakur was officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2017 Class, with friend Snoop Dogg presenting the honor on his behalf.
Snoop spoke about his fallen friend, calling him “the greatest rapper of all time” and even shared a funny story about going parasailing with him.
Then, a number of artists paid tribute to him via a performance of some of his biggest hits.
Alicia Keys took to the stage, performing a medley of Pac hits, including “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” “I Ain’t Mad at Cha”, and “Dear Mama.” Then, Snoop returned for a rendition of “Gangsta Party” with YG; Pac’s close friend Treach (of Naughty by Nature) performed “Hail Mary”; and T.I. — dressed in a memorable Tupac look — offered
his best version of the classic single, “Keep Ya Head Up.”
Pac joined the Hall alongside ELO, Journey, Joan Baez, Nile Rodgers of Chic, Pearl Jam, and Yes. The ceremony airs on HBO on April 29.
