While the Ball brothers — UCLA star Lonzo Ball, and highschoolers LaMelo and LiAngelo — have made a name for themselves on the court, their father is known for his outrageous claims.
LaVar Ball is dreaming about the successes of his sons, including a massive sneaker deal for the trio as a package.
“A billion dollars, it has to be there,” he recently told USA Today. “That’s our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years.”
If LaVar wants that deal for his boys, he’ll have to wait. The youngest of the three, LaMelo, is 15 years old, and NCAA regulations prevent against any such business dealings while the boys are playing college basketball.
Last month, LaVar said that if Lonzo didn’t land a contract with Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour that he would sign to Big Baller Brand, a self-started label inspired by the Ball brothers.
And, if you’re not familiar with LaVar Ball’s crazy statemtns, he also told USA Today that in his prime he “would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one.”
