As the music world celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s passing, Faith Evans reveals the cover for her anticipated duets album, The King & I.
As you can see, the cover finds the singer dressed in all black andposing next to an image of her late husband on a brick wall behind her. Above it is the title, which is made to look like it was spray painted onto the wall.
As previously announced, the album will feature new Faith vocals alongside “a selection of rare and unheard rhymes from the B.I.G. vault.”
So far, two singles from the project has been released: “NYC” featuring Jadakiss and “When We Party” with Snoop Dogg. Additionally, the album will feature a highly-anticipated collaboration between Faith, Big, and Lil’ Kim, as well as interludes by Christopher Wallace’s mother, Voletta.
“I remember telling Ms. Wallace years ago that one day it would be really dope if I could do something similar to Natalie & Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable,” said Evans. “Knowing the love that B.I.G. had for Tyanna & Ceejay, I feel it’s my duty to uphold & extend his legacy, especially his musical contributions. This project is my creative reflection of the love we had & the bond we will always have. I’m elated to share this musical journey with our fans!”
The King & I is due out May 19.
