Microsoft Announces Netflix-Style Game Pass for the Xbox One

It was only a matter of time. Finally, Microsoft has announced a Netflix-style monthly game pass, allowing gamers access to a variety of Xbox titles.

Set to roll out this spring, the Xbox Game Pass is a gaming subscription service that gives gamers¬†unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games… for just $9.99 a month.

Titles include are Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16, SoulCalibur II and Saints Row IV to name a few, while publishers such as 2K, 505 Games, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, Sega, SNK Corporation, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Microsoft Studios have signed up.

Additionally, all Xbox One games in the catalog — as well as related add-ons — will be available for purchase at an exclusive discount for Xbox Game Pass members. And, new games will cycle into the subscription each month, with some cycling out, similar to the Netflix model.

Xbox Live Gold members will also be receiving exclusive access to Xbox Game Pass prior to the program launching in the Spring. Stay tuned for more info…
