Donald Trump’s recent executive order to ban travel by immigrants of specific Muslim-majority countries has people upset, and they’re expressing themselves on social media. It has even set off a recent back-n-forth between Rihanna and Azealia Banks.
Things kicked off when Rihanna commented on Trump’s controversial immigration ban, which garnered a harsh rebuttal from Banks.
“Rihanna (who isn’t a citizen, and can’t vote) and all the rest of the celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down,” Banks wrote on Instagram. “Stop chastising the president. It’s stupid and pathetic to watch. All of these confused people confuse other confused people.”
While Riri didn’t respond directly to Banks, she did shade her rival with a number of subliminal jabs on Instagram.
First, she posted a photo of herself with the caption: “The face you make when you a immigrant.” She also added a few hashtags that reference Banks’ recently admission of sacrificing chickens in her home. “#stayawayfromthechickens #iheartnuggets #saveourhens.”
Rihanna then added a photo of a person with the U.S. flag covering their face, with the caption: “The face you make when you screaming in an empty room”.
Banks didn’t stop there, though. She then posted a screenshot from her phone, sharing Rihanna’s alleged phone number, with the caption: “Bombs away!” It has since been deleted and the number was disconnected.
