The hype machine continues. After Conor McGregor said his MMA career is on hold as he shifts his focus to making a fight with Floyd Mayweather happen, Floyd is saying the same thing.
During a Q&A in front of a live audience in England on Saturday (Jan. 28), the UFC said the next time he fights, it will be against Mayweather. “I got my eyes on one thing and that’s Floyd Mayweather,” said McGregor.
Later that same evening, Mayweather addressed Conor during an interview on Showtime. “Can we make this fight happen? Absolutely!” said Floyd. “I truely believe… the fans want this fight. The fans have been asking for this fight. It’s all about entertainment. He’s very entertaining. He’s very outspoken like myself. So, let’s give the fans what they wanna see.”
He also offered details, saying it would be on Showtime PPV, and both fighters would fight at around 147-150 pounds.
