Stephen Curry may be the star of the Golden State Warriors and one of the top 3 players in the league, but as far as pay, he’s the fourth-highest paid player on his team.
Still, the young guard isn’t upset about this fact… because after all, he’s earned $44 million over the last four years.
“One thing my pops always told me is you never count another man’s money,” Curry recently told Mercury News. “It’s what you’ve got and how you take care of it. And if I’m complaining about $44 million over four years, then I’ve got other issues in my life.”
Warriors stars Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant all earn more than Curry.
Steph signed his four-year, $44 million extension with the Warriors back in 2012, before he became the dominating force in the NBA he is today.
At the end of the current NBA season, Curry will become an unrestricted free agent… during which the Warriors can offer him a five-year deal for around $210 million. If he goes anywhere else, teams can only offer a four-year contract at $140 million.
With that in mind, Curry recently said he has no plans to join another team next summer.
