Looks like boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao will close out 2017 with his final fight.
Pac-Man’s camp has announced that he will face off against Australian challenger Jeff Horn, and defend his WBO welterweight world title on April 22, though a venue has yet to be revealed.
It’s said to be the first of four fights in what will be Pacquiao’s farewell tour, culminating with his final fight in December.
“We plan to have Manny fight four times this year,” said Top Rank promoter Bob Arum. “We have an offer in Russia in July, another offer in Europe for September and in the U.S. against [unbeaten two-belt junior-welterweight champion] Terence Crawford in November or December. That will be Manny’s last fight.”
Horn is a former Olympian, who is undefeated after 17 professional fights. Pacquiao is superstar at the end of his career, who is the WBO champion and holds a 59-6-2 record.
Pacquiao last fought in November, and easily took a unanimous decision over Jessie Vargas.
