Now, we have a figure about how much the comedian will pull in from that Netflix deal.
According to the New York Post, Chappelle will make a hefty $60 million for delivering the specials to the streaming platform in 2017.
“Dave was offered $20 million a special,” an unnamed source told Page Six. “Netflix basically has a war chest for this kind of content. Whether it’s a loss or not, Dave Chappelle’s specials will get a lot of press and bring in new subscribers.”
Netflix has not commented on the figure, but it would be on par with the reported $40 million deal Chris Rock secured with Netflix last month for two comedy specials.
Details about Chappelle’s Netflix trilogy have not been confirmed, but previously reports said it was comprised material from “his personal comedy vault” and includes footage from his recent tour.
