It appears forward Josh Smith’s time in the NBA is up, for now, as he signs with Chinese team, the Sichuan Blue Whales, reports ESPN.
The 30-year-old agreed to a three-month contract with the Blue Whales, worth $1.5 million.
Smith played with the L.A. Clippers and Houston Rockets last season, where he averaged career lows in points (6.0) and rebounds (3.5) in 55 games.
According to ESPN, Smith wasn’t invited to any NBA training camps this fall and has elected to play overseas, but his goal is to return to the NBA once his season ends in China.
He’s played in the NBA for 14 years, averaging 14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists with four NBA teams.
