Lil Wayne recently offered an update on his relationship with Birdman, making it clear that they are no longer "Like Father, Like Son".

During an interview with HipHollywood, in support of his new book Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island, Weezy was asked if he and Birdman could ever rekindle their friendship.

"I’m 34. I’m too old for friends," the rapper replied.

When the interviewer re-phrased the question, asking if they are more like "family", Weezy responded: "His name isn’t Carter, baby. He’s not family."

Despite Wayne's admission of their broken relationship, Birdman has a different perspective. Last month, the mogul wished Wayne well on Instagram for his 34th birthday, writing this in the caption: "HBD MY SON. [Lil Wayne] #BEFORE ANYTHANG."

Both sides are still stuck in a legal battle, with Wayne suing Cash Money for $51 million.
