Common - Black American Again

It's been a minute since Common dropped his 2014 album, Nobody's Smiling. Instead, he's been showing off his acting chops in a number of roles... but he's back.

The Chicago rap legend is prepping an album called Black American Again, and it's dropping in a matter of weeks.

Due out Nov. 4, the title carries the same name as his recently released featuring Stevie Wonder. The song's socially conscious message resonates with scorching yet uplifting power, which continues on with the full project.

"Black America Again is centered in the injustices that black people have experienced and endured since we arrived on the shores of America," says Common. "Black America Again is a call to action. It is a song about black love, black strength, black justice, black resistance, black resilience, black empowerment, and black people."

Also, the album marks a creative reunion between Common and long-time friend/collaborator No I.D., who made his mark on the game in the 1990s, as producer of Common's first three albums.
