Nearly three years after Lil Wayne went on record, saying he wants off Cash Money Records, the battle between him and Birdman still rages on.
Weezy hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with what going on behind the scenes, but his longtime manager Cortez Bryant offered some insight into what’s going on, during a recent interview on the Rap Radar Podcast.
According to Cortez, there’s been issues with Cash Money for some time, and when Wayne sounded off on Twitter, it was a tipping point. Apparently, they had been fighting Birdman and Cash Money for the release of Tha Carter V for some time, but the label was strapped for cash… and although, all parties planned to work it out… it never happened.
