Conor McGregor

Back in August, during the media run leading up to UFC 202, headliners Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz got into a war of words and tossed water bottles at each other… and now, fines have been handed down.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has fined McGregor $150,000 for his actions during the news conference.

According to ESPN, the fine is just 5-percent of the record-$3 million purse McGregor received for the fight, which ended with a majority decision over Diaz on Aug. 20 at T-Mobile Arena.

The NSAC also ordered 50 hours of community service to McGregor.

On Twitter, he made light of the fine, saying: “I get fined more than these bums get paid”.

Next, McGregor will face Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight championship at UFC 205 on Nov. 12 in New York.
