Lil Wayne continues to give back to his hometown New Orleans, most recently by donating a skate park to the local kids.
In late August, the rapper hosted his 2nd annual Lil Weezyana Fest, which featured a pop-up skate park, built by California-based OC Ramps.
After pro-skaters like Dave Bachinsky, Jordan Hoffart, Tom Ryen and Christian Sereika did their thing during the festival, the ramps were to be broken down and shipped back to Cali.
Instead, Wayne donated the ramps and rails from the pop-up skate park to a skate park in New Orleans called Parasite, following the destruction caused by a massive storm that battered the state earlier in the month.
“We figured this is the least we can do in a moment of crisis,” a rep for OC Ramps stated. “We love skateboarding and we love the city of New Orleans. We have nothing but love for the skaters out there and hope they continue to enjoy the skate obstacles as long as possible.”
