It appears the long, drawn-out feud with Birdman and Cash Money Records has taken its toll on Lil Wayne, who is hinting at retirement.
Over the past year and some change, the rapper has yelled “F*ck Cash Money” at concerts and has even filed a $50 million-plus lawsuit, all over money he’s owed and the label refusing to release his long-awaited album, Tha Carter V.
Things seem to have hit a breaking point for Weezy, who took to Twitter on Saturday (Sept. 3) to express his frustration, saying he feels defeated… and hinted that he may retire.
“I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun,” he tweeted, before adding: “Ain’t lookin for sympathy, just serenity.”

Shortly after Wayne’s tweets, Rick Ross quoted a tweet about trying to sign him to MMG. “Get Birdman on the phone,” he wrote. Then, a number of Wayne’s peers shared their reactions or offered kind words, including Missy Elliott, Chance the Rapper, Lupe Fiasco and others. See them below.
