After two weekends, the criticism for Suicide Squad continues. Fans and critics are upset over the film’s Joker-centered marketing, especially after actually seeing the film.
Well, actor Jared Leto, who plays the iconic villain in Suicide Squad, finally addressed the backlash over the weekend, during a “camp-themed mini-festival” held in Malibu for fans of his band 30 Seconds to Mars, reports Yahoo!
During a Q&A session with fans, he reportedly expressed his frustrations with Suicide Squad and disappointment with the theatrical cut of the film.
One fan says Leto told them he feels as though he was “tricked” into being in the movie and was initially pitched something “very different” and “more artistic” than the final product. Furthermore, he said the backlash over the film and his portrayal of The Joker has “overwhelmed” him.
