Microsoft’s new holographic technology is set to arrive on all Windows 10 PCs as soon as next year.

During the recent Intel Developer’s Forum, Terry Myerson, Executive VP of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices group, revealed that the 2017 Windows 10 update will include Windows Holographic.

The technology is being marketed as a “mixed reality” experience that enables an entirely new experience for multi-tasking, blending 2D and 3D apps at the same time, while supporting a broad range of 6 degrees of freedom devices.
