Vans and Nordstrom has partnered for the launch of a series of pop-up shops this month, dubbed “Pop-In@Nordstrom x Vans”.
The shops launched at eight Nordstrom stores and online on Friday (Aug. 5), and feature a selection of footwear, apparel and accessories designed exclusively by Nordstrom’s VP of Creative Projects, Olivia Kim.
The collection for Nordstrom includes a premium selection of four footwear styles, including a range of fuzzy, shearling-adorned Chukka Boots in baby pink and blue, as well as an Old Skool. Rounding out the Nordstrom exclusive is a set of velvet Chukka Boots in port royale and emerald green.
“The central idea in the collection of Vans we designed was to bring in elevated materials like shearling and velvet to a classic shoe,” said Kim. “We wanted to create something that feels special, unique, and exclusive to Nordstrom. Sneakers don’t have to be so casual anymore – it’s a fashion statement at this point. I think by using these elements that seem high-end, like shearling or velvet, we’re elevating the shoes even further.”
A selection of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories will be available as well. Pieces sport elements from Vans’ 50 year heritage, such as its iconic checkerboard motif and Hawaiian floral patterns.
