The NFL has reinstated Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon… on a conditional basis from his indefinite suspension for multiple drug violations.
The league announced the decision on Monday (July 25), saying the 25-year-old will be suspended for the first four games of the regular season. But, will be allowed to join the Browns at their training camp and can participate in all team meetings and activities.
“With the league’s decision to afford Josh the opportunity to resume his career, he will be with us for the start of training camp,” Browns EVP of Football Operations Sashi Brown said in a statement. “At that time, we will discuss directly with Josh the direction of our team, our expectations of our players and a plan to support him on and off the field.”
Following the news, Gordon took to Twitter to express his gratitude.
“I’m blessed and grateful to be granted this opportunity,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to get back out there and play the game I love in front of the great fans of Cleveland.”
