A major deal could reportedly be in the works between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls, centered around star Jimmy Butler.
According to ESPN, the T-Wolves are prepared to deal the No. 5 overall pick in this month’s 2016 NBA Draft, as the centerpiece of a trade package for the Bulls’ star swingman.
Sources say the Wolves have previously told the Bulls that they are strongly interested in Butler should Chicago elect to traded him. And while its unclear if the Bulls are looking to deal Butler, Minneapolis reporter Darren Wolfson said Tuesday (June 14) that Chicago wants Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins in any deal for Butler.
Furthermore, sources say the Bulls would demand, at least, one front-line player, in addition to a top lottery pick this month in any trade for Butler.
The Boston Celtics, who hold the No. 3 overall pick, also have interest in Butler.
Butler signed a five-year contract with the Bulls last summer, worth in excess of $90 million.
