Bill Skarsgard Lands Pennywise Role For “IT” Remake

The role of Pennywise the Clown, the creepy villain in Stephen King's novel IT, has been cast for the New Line's remake of the horror film.

Actor Bill Skarsgard has reportedly landed the role, reports The Holly Reporter.

The 25-year-old is in the final negotiations to star in the horror pic, alongside a cast that includes Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Andy Muschietti has been tapped to direct the adaptation, which is being told in two parts.

IT follows a group of teens who call themselves the Losers Club who defeat a creature called It, depicted as Pennywise the Clown. Years later, the creature returns and the teens return as adults to battle IT again.

IT is scheduled for release in fall 2017.
