Mercedes-Benz Unveils 2017 G-Class

Mercedes-Benz unveils its brand new G-Class model, which gets technology updates and an interior upgrades.

New for 2017 is a new 8-inch display screen, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and real-time traffic information. Also, it gets extra connectivity options, via a SIM card reader and USB/iPod docks.

There's also a new anthracite trim, as well as a new lightweight wheel with a matte black finish, while some markets will get a G350d Professional edition, which Mercedes describes as the ideal option for "purists" who love off-roading, while omitting luxuries options like leather trim, carpeting and chrome exterior accents.

Under the hood, the 2017 G-Class keeps the same engine -- a 416-horsepower V-8, while the Mercedes-AMG G63 and G65 come with a 563-hp V-8 and 621-hp V-12, respectively.

The 2017 G-Class range goes on sale this September.
