Netflix inked a deal with Disney back in 2012, and it will finally go into effect this fall.
The deal, which begins in September, will make Netflix the exclusive US pay TV home of Disney films, including Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar. It covers all films released under the Disney umbrella in 2016, meaning titles like Captain America: Civil War will likely hit Netflix sometime in September.
“We’re excited to be bringing you new and exclusive Netflix Original movies including Mascots from the master of low-key comedy Christopher Guest (Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind) and War Machine, from acclaimed Australian director David Michod and starring Brad Pitt, in the serio-comic tale of the U.S. military adventure in Afghanistan,” said Netflix executive Ted Sarandos.
