It took nearly 10 years for the update from the Xbox 360 to Xbox One to happen, but are those days of waiting years for a new console over?
According to Kotaku, Microsoft will reportedly unveil a slimmer, cheaper version of the Xbox One at E3 next month, followed by a release later this year. And, are also prepping a more powerful version, capable of handling virtual reality system Oculus Rift, in 2017.
Experts suggest the upcoming releases suggest Microsoft is switching its strategy, releasing new versions of its Xbox console more frequently, rather than waiting multiple years between updates.
The Xbox One was released in November 2013, less than three years ago.
Microsoft, however, has yet to comment.
