Actor Daniel Craig has been saying that he’s over playing iconic character James Bond for some time, and apparently, he was serious.
According to The Daily Mail, the 48-year-old was offered a massive $100 million contract to return as the English secret agent, which he has rejected.
Producers at Sony Pictures said the deal was two more films — twice what he earned for the first four movies. However, Craig’s chronic knee pain, which stems from an injury that happened while filming Spectre, became an issue and he isn’t willing to overlook it.
Craig played Bond in four films, but actors Roger Moore and Sean Connery each played the role seven times.
So, a search for a new 007 begins. Reports say the Sony is looking at Tom Hiddlestone, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba as replacements.
