New supergroup alert! Public Enemy frontman Chuck D, Cypress Hill’s B-Real and rock group Rage Against the Machine are all coming together to form a supergroup called Prophets of Rage.
This week, a cryptic website popped up at ProphetsofRage.com, but didn’t offer many clues about what it was all about, aside from a logo, email subscription and a countdown with the hashtag: #TakeThePowerBack.
The hashtag is a song from Rage’s 1992 self-titled studio debut, so most fans speculated that it was the return of the rock group. Posters with the same logo also began popping up around Los Angeles over the last few days.
It remained a mystery until a source revealed the news to to Billboard, explaining that the band (minus singer Zack de la Rocha) is teaming up with Chuck D and B-Real to perform as a group, with a concert debut set for June 3 at the Hollywood Palladium.
