EA checked in on Star Wars day with the announcement of a new Star Wars video game with Respawn Entertainment, the makers of Titanfall.
Details are sparse, but it’s said to be a third person, action adventure game.
Former God of War director Stig Asmussen will be heading the project, promising to “pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times.”
“Looking back to 1977, I witnessed Star Wars unleash its magic on the big screen, forever changing me (little did I know how much at the time),” he wrote on the Respawn blog. “The crazy thing is this magic doesn’t have a shelf life.”

“There’s never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan,” EA’s Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund said in a press release. “The passion were seeing for Star Wars from gamers — whether they’ve been along for the ride since Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, or were introduced to the magic of Star Wars with Star Wars: The Force Awakens — is fueling our development teams and our partners to create unique interactive extensions of this deep, meaningful universe.”
