Lexus checks in from the Beijing Auto Show this week with the unveiling of the brand new, redesigned 2017 Lexus IS.

The updated model gets an update, most notably a new front end with a more aggressive grille and new headlights, as well as a more pronounced “L” motif in the LED taillights, two new exterior paint options (Deep Blue Mica and Graphite Black Glass Flake) and new wheel patterns.

Inside, the infotainment screen is bigger. It’s now 10.3 inches diagonally, up from 7.0 in the 2016 model. The user interface is now more more intuitive thanks to an improved menu system and new “Enter” buttons on the sides of the joystick-style controller on the center console.

As far as power, it remains the same as last year’s options: a 241-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder; a 255-hp 3.5-liter V-6 in the IS 300; and the top of the range 306-hp 3.5-liter V-6 in the IS 350.

The 2017 Lexus IS will hit dealers later this year.
