A Cash Money Records biopic is in the works, reports XXL.
Label co-founders Bryan “Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams revealed the news during a recent speaking engagement at Brooklyn Law School.
“I’m excited about the script. That’s something I really, really wanted to do”, Birdman says.
“[Look at the] Straight Outta Compton [movie]. I think that Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are geniuses for what they have done and accomplished,” he continued. “For them to do that [movie] and to make it trend-setting, they opened doors for us, and I think that what we have is way more special because we’re in modern times.”
The movie would tell the story of the New Orleans-based record label, which rose to prominence in the late 1990s and launched the careers of artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and many others.
Currently, there’s no further information about a timeline. But, would you go see a movie about Cash Money?
