The rematch between Heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko is set for July 9th in Fury’s hometown of Manchester, England.
The 27-year-old champ dethroned Klitschko back in November, ending his 11-year undefeated streak, while taking the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts… via a unanimous points decision.
Days after the fight, the 40-year-old Klitschko quickly exercised his rematch clause, announcing that the two would fight in a rematch in the summer… and now the date has been announced.
Since the fight, Fury has since vacated the IBF belt, and now, Anthony Joshua will challenge Charles Martin for that title on April 9.
This week, the champ exchanged insults on social media with the 26-year-old Joshua, saying that he’s more focused on “body-building” than improving his fight technique. Joshua responded, calling Fury a “fat boy” who is just jealous of his “beach body.”
