Before Deadpool broke box office records in February, the studios had already given the sequel a greenlight. However, its star Ryan Reynold had not officially signed on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor made just $2 million upfront on the film, which has made more than $750 million worldwide. So, before signing on for the sequel, Reynolds’ team renegotiated to significantly up his compensation for future installments.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the deal is done and Reynolds is on board for the sequel… and likely, any other films moving forward.

Details of the deal are currently unknown.
