Following reports of a nearly $400K tax lien, Iggy Azalea responds.
The rapper took to Twitter to downplay the situation, writing: “It’s not a story”.
Iggy doesn’t deny the reports, but claims she never attempted to swindle the IRS out of their share of her income.
She says she’s reached a payment plan with Uncle Sam, and is paying it off in installments. “The IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt?” she wrote. “Its like writing ‘iggy pays a mortgage on her house every month!’ and trying to make it a story. Its not a story. lol”.
TMZ first reported that Iggy had been hit with a $390,000 bill for unpaid income taxes dating back to 2014 — the same year she broke into the mainstream with their smash hit, “Fancy”.
