In a surprising turn of events, Kanye West has reunited with Nike with plans to resurrect his sought-after Air Yeezy line.
Since signing with Adidas in Fall 2013, the rapper hasn’t been shy about publicly dissing the Swoosh and its CEO Mark Parker. However, the two had a chance run-in this week… and resolved their issues.
Kanye took to Twitter, as usual, to address their meeting.
“Met Mark Parker, talked it out and we gonna turn up again. Air Yeezy 3 is coming this Christmas,” he tweeted. “Nike understands my vision now. I just had to turn up to show them. All positive vibes.”
Parker also released a statement, confirming the meeting with Kanye, but declined to further comment.
“Yes, I did meet with Kanye and we had a great dialog. He has a great vision of where footwear will go in the future,” he said in a statement. “Here at Nike, we never discourage creatives to speak their minds and always welcomed a discussion with Kanye. Whether or not, anything comes from it, we will all have to wait and see.”
It’s unclear if Kanye has left Adidas and/or if he’s signed any sort of agreement with Nike, as of press time.
